About TMG-BMC Ltd.

TMG – BMC Ltd., is a limited liability biomedical engineering company. Through development and implementation of the innovative method for measuring contractile properties of muscles called tensiomyography (TMG), we introduce a new level of information about muscle properties that is applicable in sports as well as medicine and anti-aging industry.

TMG – BMC Ltd., was established in February, 2001. In March, 2001, tensiomyography became patent-pending technology (property of TMG – BMC Ltd.). TMG is a registered trademark of TMG – BMC Ltd.

The method was developed by a group of experts from various fields at the Faculty for Electrical Engineering in Ljubljana, with the cooperation of many institutions which were the methods early users and implementers - Rehabilitation Institute in Ljubljana, Orthopaedic Hospital in Valdoltra, Olympic Committee of Slovenija, as well as the most successful Slovenian national teams such as Slovenian Football Team, Slovenian Hockey Team (both were participants of the World Championship).

The inventor of the method, Prof. Dr. Vojko Valenčič, was a leading researcher and the head of the Laboratory for biomedical imaging and muscle biomechanics. He was aided in his work by three research assistants as well as human and technical resources provided by a close working relationship with the Department of Electronics at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The method was invented in the late 80’s and was from then on improved through many prototypes and developed to the stage were commercial application of the method was possible. Although it was initially intended for medical use, the TMG method was also introduced in sports in 1996. In recent years, the development and application of the method has shifted more towards sports and, in cooperation with a biologist and one of the renowned athletic trainers in Slovenija- Mr. Srdjan Djordjevič, numerous new ways of using the TMG method in sports have been developed and tested in practice on top athletes.

About TMG Method

Tensiomyography Tensiomyographic method (TMG) is used for objective evaluation of the physical and health condition of an individual as well as for evaluation of the individual adaptation capability to internal and external factors. These factors are local and central fatigue, potentation (stress influence), dehydration, temperature, etc. The measured results are presented as an individual report for each athlete. Finally, an expert is needed for the interpretation of the measured results.
